  • Plant for the place

    Grouping plants by how much water they need lets each zone be watered for what it holds, not for the thirstiest plant in the yard.

  • Water at the roots

    Drip lines under mulch put water into the soil instead of the air, and need checking and adjusting as plants fill in.

  • Let rain soak in

    Permeable pavers and permeable concrete let rainwater pass through to the ground rather than running off to the street.
